HORMONE TYPE BUYERS SURVEY

In July 2022, Metabolic CCO, Jeff Radich,  conducted a survey among Metabolic Renewal customers, categorizing their responses based on their hormone type. The primary objectives of this survey were to pinpoint the variations among the hormone types in terms of goals, barriers, and motivations. Additionally, the survey aimed to uncover innovative concepts or headlines that could boost ad engagement. The following information lays out the key takeaways from that survey data.

Hormone Type 1

A significant 73% of this group falls within the 36-50 age range, with the majority being in the 41-45 age bracket.

In comparison, 18% of the HT1 group consists of individuals under the age of 35.

Hormone Types  2,3 & 4

Comparable to HT1, however, this group excludes women under the age of 30 and begins to incorporate a larger proportion of women in their 50s.

The primary age range for this group lies between 36 and 50 years old.

Hormone Type 5

This age group predominantly consists of individuals in their mid to late 40s and early 50s.

There is a fairly balanced distribution between the 46-50 and 51-55 age brackets.

Hormone Type 6

This age group displays a relatively even distribution across the 51-65 age range, with the highest concentration (35%) of individuals in the 56-60 age bracket.

Hormone Type 7

In this group, 52% of the individuals are 66-70 years old.

Additionally, HT7 is the only group that includes women older than 70, who make up 40% of this specific group.

Hormone Type 1

"Right now you most closely match Hormone Type 1, or Mixed Signal Metabolism, which means your busy life and changing hormones may be spiking uncontrollable hunger hormones, leading to weight gain, especially in your belly.

What I’ve seen with most women in this group is that they are successful, responsible… always on-the-go.  “It’s everyone first… me last. ”Children, family, work, school, activities, and home get all your time, but the stress really takes a toll leaving you crashed on the couch at the end of the day, exhausted both mentally and physically, mood swings and unmotivated.

This chronic state of stress, spikes cortisol levels, leaving you highly vulnerable to hunger and craving hormones, especially before and during their period. Your willpower rivals superwoman throughout the month, but you can easily wipe out an entire month of discipline in one week of menses.

Keep in mind, when the two primary hormones fluctuate before and during your period, other hormones… ones that drive sugar cravings and hunger can almost force you to overeat and crave high-sugar, high calorie foods. That’s why the foods you eat and the activities you choose, before and during your menstrual cycle can quickly imbalance other key fat burning hormones. And an imbalance in these hormones makes sense why some have intense craving for chocolate and salty foods … which I’ll explain later…

The good news is that balancing hormones is the first step to burning fat because tummy fat is hormonal fat.  That’s why when Type 1’s  focus on foods and activities that balance hormones, the first fat to come off is the belly.

If you want to burn more and store less, feel good in your favorite clothes, improve your body shape, and tighten and tone…You need to balance hormones by getting the best foods and activity for your type which I will share with you now."

Hormone Type 2

"Right now you most closely match Hormone Type 2, or Hormone Overload, which means estrogen dominance may be causing your hormonal weight gain, especially in your belly.

What I’ve seen with most women in this group is that they are successful, responsible… always on-the-go.  “It’s everyone first… me last.”

Children, family, work, school, activities, and home get all your time, but the stress really takes a toll…

Estrogen without the calming balance of progesterone is why you feel fatigued, irritable, and anxious, and at the end of the day you just collapse because you’re exhausted both mentally and physically.

Women in this group typically have pear shapes or heavier hourglass body types because the weight commonly shows up as “hormonal-fat” in the tummy and lower section of the thighs.

This hormone overload also influences excess bleeding, excess cramping and higher percentages of endometriosis, painful Uterine Fibroids, and a higher percentage of thyroid conditions.

Plus the chronic stress and the deficiency of progesterone may make sense why you crave chocolate and salty foods, which I’ll explain later…The good news is that type two’s can see faster body transformation when they eat and exercise to take advantage of their estrogen advantage.

Because for women with belly fat, calories matter, but hormones may matter more.

Hormone Type 3

"Right now you most closely match Hormone Type 3, or Hormone shortfall, which means your deficiency in this “calming hormone” may be causing your hormonal weight gain especially in your belly.

Most women in this group have type A personalities. They are successful, on-the-go, never back down from a challenge but the stress really takes a toll leaving them feeling wired and tired, irritable, anxious, and vulnerable to mood swings.

Women in this group typically have more apple shapes, followed by pear shapes with a higher percentage of belly fat.

The increased weight in the lower section and tummy fat is what I call “hormonal-fat” because you are more vulnerable to the stress hormone cortisol.

Also, the deficiency in this calming hormone explains why this is the group has the highest percentage of PCOS, or polycystic ovarian syndrome and the imbalanced hormones may also influence why you crave chocolate and salty foods, which I’ll explain later…The good news is that type 3’s can see faster body transformation than other groups when they eat and exercise to take advantage of their estrogen advantage.

Because for women with belly fat, calories matter, but hormones may matter more.

Hormone Type 4

Right now you most closely match Hormone Type 4, or Ovarian Burnout which means the deficiency in estrogen and progesterone may be causing your hormonal weight gain especially in your belly.

I see this a lot in overworked athletes and women under a lot of physical or emotional stress or women who have a history of under eating, over-exercising or those who experienced a traumatic life experience.

In my clinical practice, type 4’s are the group that’s most interesting because you are likely in peri-menopause or a self-induced menopause which is devastating to most because you are probably too young for these symptoms. Keep in mind that estrogen and progesterone make you feel motivated, focused, self-confident, calm and relaxed. You likely feel none of that…What you feel is equally overwhelming and unexpected, almost like something is broken.

You don’t just feel tired, you feel exhausted both emotionally and physically.  The metabolic stress you’re experiencing is commonly expressed as intense irritability, anxiousness, and anxiety. You are desperate for a good night’s sleep and some of you are experiencing a loss of libido for the first time in your life and that is adding even more stress to the mountain that you already carry on your shoulders.

You likely feel alone… but I guarantee you… you are not. The chronic stress and a deficiency of progesterone likely explains your cravings for chocolate and salty foods which I’ll explain later…

While losing weight and belly fat are top of your list… feeling normal again is equally important.

Belly fat starts to become an issue for type 4’s, and I typically see Apple or Pear shapes or larger hourglasses shapes with tummy fat. I call this “hormonal fat” because for women with belly fat, calories matter, but hormones may matter more.

You’ve tried everything and nothing works, but that is part of the problem…  Anything extreme is making your metabolic stress even worse.

The good news is that type 4’s can experience the MOST significant health and weight transformations of any group when you switch to a Goldilocks Approach and that’s because metabolic STRESS is your number one enemy.

Working out harder or cutting calories too low will likely create more problems because you are sensitive to accumulating “hormonal-fat”… pushing yourself closer to the breaking point.

If you want to burn tummy fat and feel normal again… You need to balance hormones by getting the best foods and activity for your type which I will share with you now.

Hormone Type 5

"Right now you most closely match Hormone type 5. I call this Metabolic Sputter because progesterone is mostly gone and estrogen is volatile and unpredictable causing hormonal weight gain, especially in the belly.

Doctors call this stage Peri-menopause.Most women with this hormone type struggle to feel balance. Your estrogen levels are all over the place which explains night sweats and hot flashes for some of you along with irritability and anxiety.

Women who've always slept like a baby suddenly find themselves waking up multiple times every night, leaving them drained and exhausted throughout the day.

Emotions don’t feel consistent. One moment you feel normal… and other times you don’t, but you can’t put your finger on it.

The chronic stress and a deficiency of progesterone also likely explains your cravings for chocolate and salty foods which I’ll explain later…

Belly fat starts to become an issue for type 5’s, and I typically see Pear shapes followed by apple shapes or larger hourglasses shapes with tummy fat. I call this “stress fat” because for women with belly fat, calories matter, but hormones may matter more.

Hormone Type 6

"Right now you most closely match Hormone type 6.

I call this Ovarian Fatigue because now that you are in menopause, estrogen & progesterone are gone, leaving you susceptible to the stress hormone cortisol which explains hormonal weight gain, especially in your belly.

Most women with this hormone type may be experiencing belly fat and sudden body changes for the first time in their life… women who used to have an hourglass may now have an apple, pear or rectangular body shape.

For a lot of women with Ovarian Fatigue, it feels like your metabolism has shut down all together and you are a victim to your hormones … Worse, the youth hormones that used to keep the brain sharp and operating at full speed have started to slowly drop off. This can lead to brain fog, fatigue, and a lack of motivation.

The good news is that you don’t have to give up.  You can experience the MOST significant health and weight transformations of any group when you switch to a Goldilocks Approach and that’s because metabolic STRESS is your number one enemy.

Working out harder or cutting calories too low will likely only drive up the stress hormone cortisol because you are sensitive to accumulating “stress-fat”… pushing your irritability and anxiety  and difficulty sleeping further to the breaking point.

Because for women with sudden belly fat… calories matter, but hormones may matter more.

If you want to lose weight, burn tummy fat and feel healthy again…

Hormone Type 7

"Right now you most closely match Hormone type 7. I call in Ovarian Shutdown because you are not producing estrogen or progesterone and the light dominance in this one hormone explains the hormonal weight gain, especially the belly fat… but more importantly the lingering body changes.

Menopause is mostly behind you and many of the symptoms like irritability, fatigue and anxiety have settled down making you feel more normal. However, while you feel like your body has settled down, you are likely not happy where things have ended up…

Women who used to have an hourglass may now have an apple, pear or rectangular body shape and the belly fat is deeper in the tissues creating a thicker midsection. For a lot of women, it feels like their metabolism has shut down all together and many just feel like giving up on their body altogether…

The good news is that you don’t have to give up. You can experience significant changes to your body shape when you choose foods and activities that mimic the beneficial effects that used to be accomplished when your body was producing estrogen and progesterone.

Working out harder or cutting calories too low will likely only drive up the stress hormone cortisol because you are sensitive to accumulating “stress-fat”…

Because for women with belly fat… calories matter, but hormones may matter more.If you want to lose weight, burn tummy fat and feel healthy again…
